Well it seems I was hardly home this week and I’m feeling a little sorrowful about that because I need to be still and paint at home but my schedule to cover the gallery has been a bit off so I’m having to do more days than usual. I also attended a couple museum events. One of them was a calendar signing day where I met many local Arkansas artists I admire and also meeting the First Lady of Arkansas Mrs. Ginger Beebe! She is so petite and very nice, I enjoyed meeting her very much 🙂
Part of the joy of traveling around town was enjoying the fall show of the Ozarks and I must say, this has not been a bad season for colors at all!
Don’t forget to turn your clocks back Sunday morning! Cheers!
Omygoodness! What a beautiful painting – I love it!
Erika, your cow painting continues your new direction in freshness and light in watercolor. Plus, I love the pure colors!!!
Hi Kari thank you! I see you are resurfacing, hope you’re also refueled for art been missing your work! 😉
Pure colors, that’s the key isn’t it Hillary? Thanks for picking it up! 🙂
Wow, Erika, this is a beauty! The colors are so fresh, and the brushwork is so confident. That takes a lot of experience, I imagine.
Erika, I like your cow a lot. I also spied the watercolor splatters, excellent addition! Love it!
Hi Deb, I can’t express how good it feels to read the positive response I am getting for this painting. I started to draw it with no expectations. I’m so glad that my love for the medium takes me to good places. The “confident brushwork” might be from painting this at 1AM under mediocre light and basically just trying to squeeze in a painting in my day – my last hurrah so to speak before bed!
Caren thanks so much! I’m really feeling lucky to be able to pull off a fun painting under mediocre situations; I don’t really enjoy painting at night.
I guess I never got back to see the final cows. This is so wonderful and I am so envious of your confident brushwork and use of color and composition and …everything!
Did you see the cow painting in the newspaper this am? Part of a series on Crystal Bridges art acquisitions, featuring Little Joe with Cow…1923 by Yasuo Kuniyoshi. Also glad you were able to get a few pics in downtown bentonville since I kept you talking through your free time!
Red
Hi Carol! I’m really loving DSDF because I meet artists with great passion and talent such as yourself! I love your work and highly honored to receive your attention and supportive words thanks so much!
REDREDREDRED! We only subscribe to BV Weekly because it comes weekly only lol And the rest of the time I try to read art books or go online for news lol ANYWAY what about the cow art?
Red I love you, I’d rather talk to you anytime than take pics, I really shouldn’t be pushing Betty like that as she’s crying Uncle already lol Anyway, I don’t see you enough meh!
You did “paint” the challenge, and might I also add…
WATERCOLOR LOOKS GOOD ON YOU ERIKA!
Erika, your cow is so pretty! It inspires me to do watercolors, but I know it isn’t as easy as you make it look.
Beautiful cow, great rendering.
Thanks so much onpainting, I appreciate your time and comment 🙂
