My life has changed the last 15 days. My orthopedic doctor put me on Prednisone to help control the inflammation of my rotator cuff injury. I’ve been enduring the pain for TWO YEARS! Not realizing that it has taxed me not only physically, but also emotionally and mentally! I just finished 6 weeks of physical therapy which didn’t really take, and that’s after a cortisone shot. But I can’t believe how much these steroid pills have turned me back to the Erika I used to know! I’ve been so enthusiastic, productive and happy because I’ve been void of pain!
Well today I took the last pill. These meds would cause more bad than good if the doc were to keep me on them. So I made sure I painted today so I can at least have a physical proof that I felt good today! And hope the non-steroidal meds I will be taking will keep me engaged to the Erika I knew well!
This is beautiful not only because of the image but because they are symbols of love from those around you. I’m glad the pills hurt and now you’re wise enough to stop before they start to cause harm. Continued healing with your new course of treatment girlfriend!
prednisone makes my foot soles and hand prints sweat! I hate it. After the fire I was on cortisone eyedrops, cortisone inhalers, and prednisone pills. Felt like a zombie. Now I are one!
hope the short course told your shoulder who is in charge!
luvs ya babé!
Thanks Sheila it’s nice when studio time is rewarded with a painting we like 🙂 And from your keyboard to God’s eyes 😉
Red, some people have bad experience with Prednisone so they can’t wait to get off them. I’m so glad you’re done with that episode!!!
Yeah I hope these new meds will do the job. Doc doesn’t think surgery would help me. Luvs ya back!
Lovely work Erika, I love your highlights on the bottle too, the best thing I read here is about your health, so HAPPY to hear your feeling better, and glad to know your back to yourself!
Hey you! Thanks Lori! I’ve finally finished this piece and I’ll post this week some time. Thanks so much for your sweet thoughts xox
Sorry to hear about the rotator cuff injury and your pain. Sheesh. I hope it’s much better now. That prednisone has its place, and is great for reducing inflammation. BUT it also has bad side effects and does damage if taken long… so it’s good to hear you are done with it.
Lovely painting, BTW!
Hey Diana! Darn how does something that bring so much relief – even to issues you didn’t realize you had – be so bad? Thank you, my pain is under control, but unfortunately with medication… otherwise it’s as if it was day one with the pain. At least the non-steroid meds seem to work =)
Thanks again!
That’s a lovely painting. Best to you Erika, may you find a good way to stay comfortable and pain-free.
Thank you Theresa!!! I am finding comfort in my new meds (Arthotec) thankfully!!! I appreciate your thoughts xox
